Portland Sea Dogs partner with Sebago Clean Water for Maine Clean Water Week

In 1983, the Maine Legislature made provisions to designate the first full week of June as Maine Clean Water Week. Maine Clean Water Week was created to increase the public’s awareness of the improvements made in the quality of Maine’s waterways. One of the primary reasons our waterways have so greatly improved is due to the hard work of Maine’s collection system and wastewater treatment plant personnel. Sebago Clean Waters is a nonprofit that conserves forests to keep Maine’s largest drinking water supply, Sebago Lake, clean.

This year, Recipric created a partnership that leverages the Portland Sea Dogs’ platform to elevate the importance of Maine Clean Water week, in partnership with Sebago Clean Waters. Together, the two organizations will promote this partnership on social media, encouraging Sea Dogs fans to post photos of themselves drinking products made from Sebago Lake water with the hashtag #KeepSebagoClean for the chance to win Sea Dogs tickets.

This partnership has engaged with thousands of sports fans across Portland to promote Clean Water Week in Maine!
